EOC Week9 Network 1976 movie


I can't put it more perfectly than Turner Classic Movies' Robert Osborne who said "What was originally a satire is a stinging mirror of television news today." I strain to think of a film that is a more brilliant take on society, and all of the flaws it has. It's obedience and entertainment by those who rebel, no matter how insane they are. The exploitation of those in peril for any kind of economic profit. And the fact that everything Beale preaches is completely true and completely bashes the people who are producing him. I was amazed by how much he sells out while continuing to rant about how terrible the people he works for are, and the fact that they just keep him on the air because they want ratings.

It couldn't be more related to today. Turn on the news and you see videos of how horrific the war on terror is and how horrific American society has become, but it stays on the air because people don't want to see the good things in life. They care about the bad and the corrupt. People must have laughed it off back then, but it was such a foreshadow to the near future. The performances are just as brilliant as the social commentary. Each actor becomes so absorbed into their characters that you can't even tell they're acting. It feels like you're watching these people in their daily lives, interacting and becoming more and more corrupt. Finch and Dunaway easily give two of the greatest performances of all time. I could write 20 more pages about it's brilliance, but I'll stop now to keep me from rating. I just have to say that it's so rare to find a film as incredibly flawless as this.

Two dollar Tuesday is going a long way at Trader Joe's. No longer is $2 wine sold on only Tuesdays, in actuality $2 wine happens everyday. We use this technic as a gimmick to find new consumers and bring them in. Keeping our current consumers happy as well as new consumers.

Nevadans say income tax cuts should stay

Its was stated in the RJ as Congress winds up for a big debate this 2010 fall over taxes, Nevadans polled are sending a strong message not take away tax cuts. Understandably almost 30 percent polled would let lower rates expire and with a wide margin, Nevada residents say they want lawmakers to continue reduced income tax rates for individuals and other tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003. What are we as a people to do if expire taxs cuts go in effect at year's end unless they are extended .

Weaknesses: Consumers may believe we promote drinking every day after work and that is not the intent. Many, many competitors on the market and there brand is already widely known. With all the brands out in the market certain consumers will not change their ways even if the price is right.

Opportunities: Living in the City of Lights or how I think of it as The City that Never Sleeps, we can use that to our advantage to promote to every nightclub/lounge, bars and any local community events. We can also have events coinciding with the nightclubs as a charity event or other promotional ideas.

Threats: Our only main threat is ourselves. If we see competitors as a threat we will always be behind the eight ball. If we can’t fix the problem then we need to go back into our marketing and research and fix it.

I chose to make a poll on the two topics listed to the left because they are up to date topics that most people rarely every take the time to think about.For me I easily took a liking to both topics but I wanted to see how others may react to them.

Short haircut can be chosen according to the shape of one’s face and the texture of the hair for the best look. These haircuts are best of summer in great way. EOC Week4 BIG

The film authenticity of the era rings true here (the computer adventure game, the Yankees ball players, the hair and clothing styles) creating an evocative period piece. Big is a nearly perfect time capsule. A typical 13-year old boy who hangs out with his best friend, plays games on his computer in that days in time, groans when his mom asks him to clean up around the house, and is too shy to approach the pretty girl he likes. More than anything, Josh thinks that he wants to be bigger (or older). The thought of being big surly has pass through the mind of many kids, who see adulthood as the promised land. Ironically, given the choice, many adults would happily re-live their childhood for another shot at the innocence and lack of responsibility from their younger years. This is a lesson Josh learns during the course of Big. Everyone who is young it seems wants to be older. Everyone wonders what they will be when they grow up. A fortune telling video arcade turns a wish true. He wakes up the next morning trapped in the 30-something body. He soon finds out that life as an adult is not as easy as it seems. He applies for a position as a data entry worker at MacMillan Toys, and he is soon singled out by MacMillan for his youthful enthusiasm. Thereafter, he is promoted to Vice President of Product Development. Now this would truly be a dream job for any 13-year old, being that it involves playing with toys all day. Moreover, he knew the target market of MacMillan, and was experience first hand MacMillan’s product.

EOC Week3 9to5

How there went about using marketing research to make this film?

The target market is professional women who work hard to balance family life with professional obligations. I this particular time period women seen in leadership roles were rare or not at all. Women were often seen as secretaries or assistance. They were known for proof reading, retrieving documents, and making coffee. However, being that the actors/actress in this film have not work in a real office setting. Which make this a non-bytes.

Three female employees of a sexist and egotistical ego find a way to get back at him. In the work place women pretty much performed those same duties which they did in their home. Such task as to being seen and not heard. Moreover, to retrieve things those were request by their boss or in a home setting, their children or husband.

What were some of the social issues that women had to deal with during this time period?

Women had to deal with the common workplace double standard, of being looked upon as second class citizens, not seen as an equal amongst their male colleagues. Sexual harassment was also very prevalent during this time period. Women often failed to complain in fear of the backlash received from their bosses or supervisors.

Survey:Kid's Eating Habits in the U.S.: Trends Among Infants, Toddlers, Tweens and Teens


Many Americans especially those who are young in age. Their eating habits consist of fats, sugar, salt, and calories. Totally missing key nutrients children need for optimum health. There is a simple solution, which is balanced caloric and nutrient intake over a long-term along with adequate physical activity. This comprehensive study has provided a current overview of American eating habits in the US, including long-term changes. Discussing of mealtime patterns, portion distortion, and the contribution of away from home eating habits. Many children have poor nutrition.
I try and stay healthy for the mere fact of my health and because I am a little vein. Do try and change your daily life habits is a struggle and in today’s society with plastic surgery, models and trying to date it’s an even bigger struggle.
This survey opened my eyes to certain habits that even I should look out for but even so things may come in between of that. Taking into consideration of work schedule, school schedule, (if you are a student) and just your won “me” time. Putting these factors into the eating healthy and staying healthy factor is a mind-boggling situation.

Eating healthy foods is one of the greatest ways you can live healthy and combat developing a disease. Once and awhile its open to splurge and indulge in your urges but not on a daily basis. You need to be aware of what you put in your body. You only have one body and you need to take care of it.
What this survey also showed me is that you have to look at what your family is buying for food that can either harm you or help you in this healthy living life style. Some people blame the parents of a chubby child because they are feeding them nothing but junk food. However, you may assume that’s what they are doing but in fact it could be genetic. We as a nation judge people. We need to get out of that habit. We need to take responsibility for our own lifestyle and do with it we see fit.

This survey has a lot of key points that most people may not know. I highly suggest reading it and seeing for yourself how you live your life and if you see a need for change.

EOC: Week 1

I expect to learn as much as possible that I can from this class and professor. With that leaving the matter open to a wide abroad. I believe that it is befitting. My professor is very wise. I think that it would be an understatement to say that he's smart. As I sit there listen to him. I ask myself “how can one retain so much knowledge. Farther more, little detail on my major of studies. In his former career in marketing he was able to give accuracy on numbers and the next best moves for the company to take verbally and well as written. I have to be honest and say that there's a part of me that fears him. I think that he's that believes in pushing his students to excel. And who doesn’t want to be pushed by a teacher who has a true desire to instill the unknown in you. In some cases one can be pushed so hard that one doubts self and give up. On the other hand, I have that sense of not wanting to want to let him down, because I think he does have his students’ best interest at heart. My professor has even been able to relate with us on some things that my other professors in my same chose of major and have been in the business for years, have not been able to relate as he has in the small world of fashion.

Its behooves me how my other teacher who are in the same career of my choice of my major of study, cant connect with most of us the student. They give us the background and the history of where trends and different styles come from, but a sense of relation or recognition that we can relate to they totally miss it. Moreover, He know exactly what he’s talking about, and is very direct on all points, giving great detail to where even a younger generation or the student can relates. He's been able to give details down to an address. That which it is more that my core class teachers have been able to give. I hope to learn and apply myself to all that he is willing to teach. To end this note, its going to be hard. I hate to blog/twit.
